TT & Inland Championships at Queen Mary SC 10 – 11 November.Competitors from as far afield as South Wales and the East Coast converged on Queen Mary SC for the final event of the B14 TT Series, the Inland Championship. We were sharing the venue with the Cherub fleet. Following a series long battle, three boats - Ullman Sails (Mark Watts/ Kathy Sherratt), Neil Pryde (Mark Emmett / Allan Stuart) and Seavolution (Barnsie, sailing with local super-sub Alex Jones) were in still contention for the overall TT Series going into the event, with many other sub-prizes also up for grabs. On Saturday the wind eventually rose to a gentle 4-5 knots - staying just above kite collapsing strength and much to the liking of the reigning Inland Champions the Anthill Mob (Tim Harrison & Jonny Ratcliffe), dusting off 758 for a first outing since the Nationals.
UK TT 2012 overall resultsAfter a hard fought season, though with some slightly dissapointing turnouts, we've had a total of 24 boats compete at UK TT events this year, with a high of 14 boats at any one events- plus a couple more turned up for the Nationals and the Euros. The numbers have been crunched, a single discard applied and so without further ado:
Congratulations to Mark Emmett and Alan Stuart (with a little assistance from Guy Raynes) in 762, who put together a stong season to take home the title. Barnsie and his cast of thousands take 2nd, whilst Mark and Kathy (with guest appearences from Char and some helm/crew swapping at the end of the season take third place. For further awards, and discussion of next year's TT, see the forum.
2013 World Championships Venue Decision - France here we come! After the class survey and some long discussion amongst the World Council I have the pleaure to announce that the class has chosen Centre Nautique De Plerin to host the 2013 World Championships. The event will take the form of a 3 day Europeans/Lay Day/5 Day World Championships over the 11th to 19th July 2013. More details will follow over the coming weeks and months as we work to make this an event to remember.
This was a close decision with a lot of support for the Italian options. On the back of this we have secured in principle with Circlolo Velo Torbole, Garda for the Summer 2016 World Championships.
We look forward to seeing if we can break the 50 boat mark in Plerin :) Any questions and discussions please use the dedicated 2013 Worlds Message Board.
