those not on facebook might not have heard, but Dan Watson's not had much fun since getting back from the worlds, having come down with a very serious case of pneumonia. He's had surgery for a collapsed lung and to remove fluid from his chest. Really a rather nasty case, but apparently he's on the mend now and out of intensive care.

Hope they did a Health and Safety assessment prior to lifting him

On a serious note though, glad to hear he is on the mend.

Question is did he catch it in France or Aus

Good post Al. We didn't know about this. Poor Dan.

Mmm, nasty.....Pneumonia is certainly not to be sneezed at.

Dan, hope the recovery is happening quick. You must have put in too hard at Carnac.

Take care.

Believe the tubes will be out early this week. :P

Hi all,

thanks for the concern. Out of Hospital yesterday but still a little while ahead before I'll be sailing. On the antibiotics for another 2-3months.

And to answer those questions:
-No didnt hit it too hard in France, maybe not hard enough!!
-And no it wasnt a French bug ... the French have never been able to attack the Germans, what makes you think they can now!!
-And Barnsie - have lost around 15kgs so no health and safety needed...but look out when im back sailing!!

Missing the water...the boat teases me everytime i walk past the trailer so hopefully can be back on board soon.

Great news, but drugs for another 2-3 months! Not good for the stomach.

And, have you got your boat back home already?
