Paignton Nationals Entries Open

Postby peter785 » Fri May 23, 2014 11:10 am

Entry forms, NOR and sailing instructions have been sent out by email today. Racing is 4 days, 10-13 July at Paignton SC.
4 days racing and most evening meals for £105 per boat is a snip, so please get your entry in by 10th June to get this price, after this it goes up to a shocking £125.
Email entries with online payment are fine, use the "word doc" entry form.
Anyone not getting the email entry form, or knows of a possible "ex association member" not on the email list who might get the old B14 out of the garage and be tempted out for this great event, PM me and I will send.

Who is coming...

From Restronguet, 789, Henry Metcalf and Chris Webbber definate
785, Peter Knight and Jane Reeves definate
711, Ben, if leave agreed

15 knots and sunshine in Torbay this year! Peter

(Think we also have potential/likely candidates in 694, 711, 770, 784 and a couple of our French friends? and I hear the appearance of a genuine B14 legend crew in another boat is on the cards... [not you Go Lightly...]).

I can confirm myself and Steve are racing in boat 722 (711 is the number on the sail and will be changed before the nationals). Very excited! However I think I need to join the class association?

It seems we (Chris/Daniela) will be taking 672 there as well.

Is there an option of arriving earlier to get some more time on the water? Or an alternative venue not too far off for those of us who could use some "joint play time with other beginners" to meet in advance?

The club are very friendly, and certainly if you arrive on Wednesday you can join their evening race or have a practice sail. If arriving before Wed, check with jackie, our contact at the club, PM me for her email, or email the club:- training@paigntonsailingclub.com FAO Jackie Gater.

If you want an extra weekend in Paignton, enter their open meeting for double handed dinghies on 28-29 June. If 6 boats want to go, they will do a separate B14 start, otherwise it is handicap. So if there is interest, this could be a pre nationals open meeting? http://www.paigntonsailingclub.com/podd_regatta.php
