Guy says, "Pack the right stuff when you go to a meeting!"

What's the most important non-sailing item that you really should not foget?

Sleeping bag? (Nope, Dan Cowin just sleeps in the car).

Money? (Nope, Barnsie's got loads to spare).

Tools? (Na, Pete Nicolson just borrows yours).

Soap? (No, who needs it?)

Map? (Na, Richie & Lissa have just completed a HUGE B14 race of some 50Km up the coast of Aussieland. They didn't need a map).

Sandwiches? (Nope, someone will always give you a meal).

But how about TOOTHBRUSH? Mmmm, Very important...... Isn't it Guy???
(How's the mouth?)

What other things are ESSENTIAL to sailing away with the B14 fleet?

Boots? Ooo, under the belt methinks. Er, actually, the boots were pre-planning. They were left in the bottom of the boat since Rockland Tiger Troffee, so I hadn't forgot them...

How's your "ring"? Still "confident"?

As for the petrol. You have to run on something local when doing the Hoo Freezer. I wonder what will work at Freddie Starcross?

Ever turned up at an open and the crew has forgotten to pick up the boat as the helm had come from abroad. Has not happened to me but has happened to someone known to some in the sailing world a few years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!! Most funny. :P

Nice one Janey. This could be confession corner?

Come on Cowin, we wanna hear yours!

I recon the Dan and Stu MUST have had a few?

Fells? Oh,yeah, well he's probably done them all.

Wouldn't it be funny if Rich Bell forgot sails?

Wayne Dixon is probably the only bloke to be free of this character, BUT ONLY BECAUSE he can make anything for a B14 out of bits from a smashed up matchbox....

some aussie b14ers (will not mention names, they know who they are) actually got the dates of the event wrong, ended up towing the boat a few thousand kilometres for nothing more than the knowledge that the wheel bearings were in perfect order. . .

As its confession corner

I have forgotten sails at one open  luckily I drove to the Helm's house in London the Friday night before a Datchet open. Without even bothering to look in the car he just opened his front door and said 'youve forgotten the sails havent you?!' Thats how well a helm and crew should know each other.

So back in the car (both of us) and the planned drinking session happened in Southampton not London. Next day we were first to the first mark (Miraculous given our lack of ability) performed an adrenaline fuelled hoist only to find that the helm had rigged the shroud out side the permanently attached kite sheets leading to much swearing, a very slow gybe and the inevitable cold swim.

Those were the days :)
