"Pack the right stuff when you go to a meeting!"

For the European fleet to have nice discussions. I'll put the kettle on.

A new lesson learnt this weekend.

I received a bit of "Crew Abuse" on Saturday evening after erecting our tent. After handing the pump to Geraldino who was shoe-horning the blow-up matress into the Bijou confines of our accommodation at Thorpe Bay, she mentions "Where's the mattress topper? Have YOU forgotten the mattress topper?"

She started crying.

I shrugged my shoulders and walked. Walked because of several immediate issues.

1. What's a mattress topper?

2. Why would I remember it?

3. It wasn't placed in the "Dispatch Bay" ready for loading the Van on Saturday morning.

4. There was no Consignment Note.

5. It's probably heavy.

So, perhaps you all should consider Mattress toppers as a essential bit of kit for a successful regatta plan?

I think it must be another type of boat. Sort of like a Merlin for Kids, made out of plastic or sumfink. :)

Ummm..... I've be "tasked" into refreshing this thread.......and I'm not that comfortable with doing so.

This September, It'll be 16years rushing around a B14 and in that time, one or two teency-weency things are going to go AWOL.

I've got to confess to forgetting to bring our foils to the Nationals this Year. (I haven't done this for many a Year). It sort of ruined getting out for race one and two, successfully buggering-up our chances of cleaning-up the 10th place we sorely had been working towards.

As a result, My marriage could be a bit shaken, especially as we had been at Whitstable for a couple of days and somehow, hadn't gotten around to rigging and checking our gear......

So, I'm refreshing these warnings to our newer members. Please don't take that fall from grace. It can leave scars.... We love GUL's sponsorship of the Class, but GUL can't fix damaged pride. Blub...

(I wish we could put photos into this forum...... Would save it all running off to FarceBooks).
